The Landlord was posted in early April 2007 to FunnyOrDie, which is a new website founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. Adam McKay has directed several of Will Ferrell's movies including Talladega Nights and Anchorman. He also appears in The Landlord video as Ferrell's roommate. Pearl, the "landlord" in the video, is Adam McKay's own daughter.
